Borderline Divine Manifestations in the Biblical World

The project investigates ontologically and semiotically borderline forms of divine representation in the southern Levant between the 8th century BCE and the 4th century CE: hybrid beings where human, animal and divine intertwine, and hybrid media that combine inscription and image, such as stamp seals and graffiti.
