The Research Unit explores how knowledge of the divine was constructed, remembered and communicated in ancient Israel/Palestine as monotheism took shape. Sub-project 3 studies stamp and cylinder seals as the first mass media: external manifestations of religious thought whose circulation created spheres of influence and knowledge.
