Lançamento de livro
PT-BR: Na última semana, passei três dias em São Paulo para dois eventos de lançamento do meu livro “O Código Devorado: os usos da iconografia antigo-oriental na exegese bíblica” (Editora Recriar, 2025).
Na quinta-feira, 28/08, proferi a palestra "Bíblia, Arqueologia e os Códigos Visuais do Antigo Oriente" e discuti algumas ideias do livro com o Dr. edson Nunes Jr e com o Dr. Robinson Jacintho na IBAB Educação. No sábado, 30/08, apresentei a aula pública "Como a arte antiga explica a Bíblia: uma introdução à exegese interartística", com moderação do Dr. André Anéas, na sede da Editora Recriar.
Dois momentos especiais, onde pude reencontrar pessoas especiais (algumas que só conhecia virtualmente) e conhecer outras.
Muito agradecido à Editora Recriar e à IBAB (e, especialmente, ao Iago Freitas Gonçalves) por criarem esses espaços, à Faculdade Unida de Vitória, pelo suporte acadêmico, à Swiss National Science Foundation SNSF pelo financiamento à versão acesso-aberto do livro e por aqueles(as) que enriqueceram esses momentos com sua presença.

ENG: Last week, I spent three days in São Paulo for two launch events for my book "O Código Devorado: os usos da iconografia antigo-oriental na exegese bíblica" (The Devoured Code: The Uses of Ancient Near Eastern Iconography in Biblical Exegesis) (Editora Recriar, 2025).
On Thursday, August 28, I delivered the lecture "Bible, Archaeology, and the Visual Codes of the Ancient Near East" and discussed some of the book's ideas with Dr. Edson Nunes Jr. and Dr. Robinson Jacintho at IBAB Educação. On Saturday, August 30, I presented the public lecture "How Ancient Art Explains the Bible: An Introduction to Interartistic Exegesis,"moderated by Dr. André Anéas, at the Editora Recriar headquarters.
These were two remarkable moments where I could reconnect with wonderful people (some of whom I only knew virtually) and meet new ones.
I am very grateful to Editora Recriar and IBAB (and especially to Iago Freitas Gonçalves) for creating these spaces, to Faculdade Unida de Vitória for the academic support, to the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) for funding the open-access version of the book, and to everyone who enriched these moments with their presence.
